Can a water heater be installed with pex

When installing a water heater you should run copper for the first 18″ on both the hot and cold line. After you have ran copper off the water heater you can transition over to pex.  For some water heaters, water lines should include a dielectric union, this is due to the joining of dissimilar metals. Another important step when installing a water heater is to include a shut off valve on the cold water supply.
